We had to wait until the 7th of October to attend the first meeting of the Regina Philatelic Club in October. 19 members attended the meeting in person and three members dialed in via the ZOOM link. Several members mentioned that they encountered heavy traffic and detours on the way to the meeting. The congestion seem to have been caused by the closure of a section of the Ring Road due to a serious accident earlier in the afternoon.
President Ian Y. opened the meeting at 7:30 pm by greeting all present. A brief mention of the agenda for this meeting explained that the Round Table Presentation – Stamps and the Letter “G” will, for reasons explained in the email reminder, also contain some stamps with the letter “F”.
As part of the business section of the meeting treasurer Glen D. verbally presented the financial reports for the year ended August 31, 2026. It is encouraging that the club’s financial position is not causing concerns. Secretary Al G. arrived just in time to present the minutes of the meeting on Sept. 2nd. Both reports were duly seconded and approved.
Most of the members, including the three Zoom in ones, had items for the letters F and G presentations. The more than 20 minute “show and tell” section contained many interesting and educational exhibits.
About two dozen items were auctioned off by Mark S., some items even exceeding the usual one or two bid process. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
