Close to 20 members and guests attended the Oct. 2nd meeting of the Regina Philatelic Club. After brief presentation of the Secretary’s and the Treasurer’s report the business portion of the meeting ended. A Round Table Presentation on the topic of Stamps and the letter U followed.
The presenters showed an interesting array of materials, including an Australian stamps showing the Uluru – the most iconic natural landform in Australia, stamps of Uzbekistan, Uruguay, and Upper Volta. We also saw an item under the heading U.S. Postal history – a nice cover from 1863.
The meeting ended with an auction, where almost all of the 19 items were gleefully acquired by bidders from the crowd.
